Twilight an Harry Potter:A no-no for Christians?

(This blog is strictly opinion. If you dont believe it then you dont have to abide by it)

Hello! Most of us know of Twilight an Harry Potter. One of the most best-selling paranormal series in

the world. Yet,do we know what their really about?

I mean sure, you may know the plot, setting, theme and blah blah blah.

But we dont know the inside truth. See,a few months after I read the twilight series my dad begin

to tell me not to read them anymore because vampires represent the devil and werewolves also.

But I did not listen. I continued to read vampire and werewolf stories on Wattpad and my nook.

But I soon began to realize he was right. Those books became my idols and I worshiped and spoke

of them more than I did about God.

I was daydreaming about how life would be if I were one and having fears of the simplest things all

because of those books.

What I'm trying to say is:

Sure, you can read Harry Potter books. But only if your mind is straight and your faith is strong enough

to the point where it wont go anywhere further than reading. That means, you shouldn't be fantasizing or dreaming about it. All focus when not reading it should be on God. But if this is not possible, then you should stop reading. Because then its controlling your life. And that is not good.

Now,I have made up a rule for myself to keep my faith in God growing. Maybe it could

help you too? This rule is-

If you think about anything more than you think of God,then it is not good for you.

And if you read anything and cant stop, more than you do the bible then it is not good for you.

Thank you for reading and I hope you take this into consideration.

i completely agree because some people just condemn these series without even reading or understanding them. i havent read twilight, but i have all 7 hp books, and they r good books. for me it is how u look @ them. if they r a just a story 2 u, then they r ok, but if u r so obsessed tht ur waiting 4 an owl with a hogwarts letter, u r diggin urself a hole 2 get stuk in. focus on the values like friendship and bravery rather than the witchcraft. and remembert, it is like the characters r in a different world, kinda like narnia rather than witchcraft

I personally love the hp books, and all the girls in my class (that makes seven) love the books and movies. And we are all strong christians. If it doesnt control you, then I personally think that its okay. But for me its different with Twilight. Twilight teaches girls that they cant be someone with out a stalkersish boyfriend at their side. Harry Potter made me stronger in my faith, because it taught me to be brave even in the hardest of times, and it was did not influence me in a bad way.

Wow, i totally agree to this ;) I use to be OBSESSED with reading (not exactly the bible) to the point where i read other stuff way more than it. This post is true and many people should really think about how much time they are doing. If it is more than God, then they should stop or put more God in what they do...
