What if I told you it was possible? What if I told you it was worth reading This message? What if I told you there was a bigger plan behind the pain you're enduring, the suffering, the changes, patience and the confusion? What if i told you, you have nothing to lose?
Today, I'm telling you its worth all of the above!! I'm a living testimony of this, not once, not twice but many times. They say it's easier said than done and I'm not going to convince you otherwise today, I'm simply going to tell you why it's worth it all.
Just over a year ago, I was as broken and finished as I could ever be. I really didn't see a point of my existence in this world, I saw no value to my life and felt the cross I had to carry was far too heavy for me to endure carrying to the top of the hill where I needed to be, where God wanted me to be. I felt as though I had lost all that was dear to me, that all I had valued and foreseen for myself ahead had disappeared in a flash and no fight or tantrum could retrieve any of it. God had called me to a place I couldn't see reason for, I was miserable and saw absolutely no reward in it when being obedient to His will and calling for my life.
It carried on for 5 months too long, as I was as stubborn as anything and would not know of any further changes to be made. I wanted this move to be quick, easy and painless in order for me to move along to the next season. Dear brothers and sisters, I compeltely missed the lesson in this move of obedience. The lesson in this move was &change& I was living a sinful life, I needed to make change, a point I've been missing each time and God's plan was for this to come to an end for good!!!
Nevertheless, God revealed an even bigger plan and picture for me during this time. After much struggle, confusion, hurdles and head bumping, our loving Father God has blessed me so abundantly, I sit in absolute awe. A year later, I received everything my heart could ever have desired, everything I ever foresaw for my future and better yet more than I would ever have had, should I not have left behind my sinful life, endured, trusted and obeyed.
Most of us, including myself, think, see or should I say believe, our lives does not need change but feel the things around us rather need to change. Truth Is the change starts with &you&. Most will tell you otherwise, will blame your circumstances around you, but never will they tell you that the change has to come from you. Truth is, your friends comforting advice will only have you carrying on forward with the same circumstances digging you even deeper in the pain and suffering you're trying to walk away from.
God has perfect, loving and everlasting grace for each one of us. But when you play with the grace of God, you cannot expect a miracle, to understand or wonder why you cannot cross over to the next season my friend. It has to come to an end before its too late and after many of these occuring circumstances in my life, I cannot tell you that I am sinless but what I can tell you, is that it is possible to make that change. So what step do we take?
Brothers and sisters, we live in a world filled with excuses, lies and deceit that can so easily lead us astray from Our loving Father. Separating ourselves from God with a blinding, sinful life. When we are born again (John 3:3), the power of the Holy Spirit breaks the power that sin once had over us. The Best scripture to refer, to have a better understanding in this step to make that change, would be the book of John. In the book of John, Jesus said &Sin no more&. What did Jesus mean by this, when stating this in two different ocassions, (John 8:3–11) and (John 5:1–15)?? When stating this to two people under very different circumstances.
Lets look at the first occasion where Jesus healed an ill man by the Pool of Bethesda. Jesus healed the man, found him afterwards and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you”. This sounds harsh but Jesus knew what He was saying, when He said this to the man, Jesus knew what had caused the man’s illness. The Bible does not go in detail about this man or his ilness and what sins this man had done. What this does teach us, is that it was caused by his sinful living and that Jesus warned the man that day that he had been given a second chance and that he should make better choices. Should the man return to his sinful behavior, he would have wasted the new season, new beginning Jesus had blessed his life with.
Looking at the second circumstance, being totally different from the first. A womenwas caught in the act of adultery and the religious leaders brought her to Jesus. They wanted justice and to trap Jesus into saying that the Law of Moses had no account for this women's sin. Jesus knew their intension and He also knew that they were not without sin, he the replied to them saying &the one who is without sin should throw the first stone&. One by one, the people that brought the women to Jesus left. Then Jesus told the woman, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more”. When Jesus refused to condemn the woman, He was not telling the crowd that the holiness was not that of importance. He was offering her the same kind of blessing and forgiveness He offers every one of us (Acts 3:19).
When we turn to Christ and receive His forgiveness, we experience a heart change (Luke 9:23) (Acts 1:8). Forgiveness is not cheap, and it does not excuse the sin that separated us from God. It cost God everything to offer us the cleansing that pronounces us righteous before Him (John 3:16; 15:13). We cannot experience the true forgiveness without being forever changed. When Jesus said “Go and sin no more,” Jesus was not speaking of sinless perfection. He is warning us not to return to sinful lifestyle choices. Those who know God’s love will naturally want to obey Him (John 14:15).
Once we lived only to please ourselves, but when we have been forgiven, our desires changes. We now live to please God (Galatians 2:20). We still sin, but sin is no longer a lifestyle choice (1 John 3:9–10). And if you are truly born again, He will correct your in disciplining you. His work is to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).
We must plant these verses so deep in our hearts that when these hurdles occur, We will be reminded of this truth that will flash before us so bright we will turn from going back to our sinful lives.
Start by asking God to lead you to the cross and all that you once held as dear you will count as loss.
(Romans 2:4) that the kindness or grace of God is meant to lead you to repentance.
(Luke 9:62) Jesus said, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Father God, today our eyes have been opened the deceitful lies being planted in our heads daily. Father God, help us to bury this word so deep in our hearts that we no longer turn back from the gift of Your almighty grace and forgiveness You have blessed our lives with. Lord, I pray for everyone reading this message, I pray You work in their hearts and make them see the changes needed to be made in order for them to start making their way to conform us into the perfect image of Your Son. Lord we love you and we desire to please You Lord. Give us our daily guidance in this world filled with evil. I thank you for granting this prayer in the Name of Jesus.
Be blessed brother and sisters.
