Because of all the talk about bullying I am reposting something I posted a year ago:
Some stuff has been said about bullies on GodGirl.com. I have something to say about that:
What makes a God Girl different from others? Her love. Not for the people who are sweet and nice to her, but to those who are mean and ugly. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and to pray for them. (see Matt 5:44) Not to fear them or to be above living amongst them. After all, Jesus said in Matthew 5:46-47,“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?” There are mean people everywhere, but if all the Godgirls leave because of the mean people then what does that say about our love, and what does that do to our community?
When pleasing God is the most important thing in your life, when you love him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, then nothing anyone can say to you can destroy you, because you are no longer living to please man (see Galatians 1:10). Don't let the fact that sin exists in the lives of the girls who visit this site surprise you or chase you off, God teaches that there is no one righteous not even one (Romans 3:10). So why are we so surprised when people disappoint us, it's to be expected. But what is our response? Love, not fear, not anger, not running, but standing and loving. Encourage one another, pray for one another, and don't let the sin of others control you, or drive you to sin, but trust God with your life and fear not. Be peace keepers. Be faithful. Be prayerful. But do not let the sins of others control you.
