God Girl Academy
“So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to do everything I have commanded you. "And remember that I am always with you until the end of time." Matthew 28:19-20
Welcome to the God Girl Academy, the place where you can find on-line discipleship under the guidance of Hayley DiMarco, best-selling author and mentor to young women. You may have read her books and your life may have changed because of the things you read, or you may have only heard about them, either way we are glad that you are here.
The goal of the God Girl Academy is to help young women to move into a deeper and stronger relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Hayley knows from experience that a lot of girls help and more answers. So where do you go? How can you find out the things you don’t understand about God, the Bible and your purpose as a God Girl? If you have questions then maybe we can help you find answers.
Discipleship is about a person, older in the faith, coming alongside another person who is younger in the faith and helping them to learn how to do this faith thing. (VERSE) Here at God Girl Academy we believe that every believer should have a or mentor, and should be disciple someone one day herself. The great commission makes it clear that we are all to go and make ‘disciples,’ not converts but disciples who not only believe in God, but know him intimately.
Your faith may be fabulous, but still you want more, or you might feel like you are sinking or that your faith is stale and not as passionate as it used to be. There are all kinds of God Girls, all kinds of believers who are all at different seasons of their life and that’s why we created a discipleship program that can grow with you. Below you’ll see that we have four different tracks, God Girl 101, 201, 301 and 401. We suggest that everyone start out with 101 and work your way up, but there may be some of you that just want to dive into 201 and do some elective stuff on your own. Either way is just do what seems to work for you.
In each track Hayley will help guide through the study of God’s Word through the use of Bible Study, book studies and homework. Many great works of non-fiction have been used to disciple God’s people for centuries, and here on this site you will find a ton of free stuff written by guys who are long since dead, but whose words still inspire, and also find more modern books that you can download for really cheap. Some books will be available on Amazon or other sites, but even if you never spend any money you can still walk through this process and come out the other side a stronger and more knowledgeable believer.
And a special note for those of you who are in some kind of crisis, if things are closing in on you fast and you just need some emergency spiritual help them you’ll find some things that will drive you into God’s word and help you out in the areas that are really pulling you down.
So take a look around the site and see where you’d like to begin. Start with the course prep below and then dive into your preferred track:
Each step can take you a day or a week, how long you spend in each of these sections is completely up to you.
Before you get started with this discipleship plan let’s talk about your time. If you really want to get something out of all this and not waste your time then it’s important to plan for a time when you can give this stuff your undivided attention. Pick a time each day when you can get into the Word, prayer, and study. My advice is that you try to come up with at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time. As Dietrich Bonhoffer said in his great work “Life Together,” This is not legalism, it is orderliness and fidelity.” If you take a look at Prayer you might find the inspiration you need to jump out of bed every morning dying for time to spend with God. But if you aren’t there yet, don’t worry, that’s the goal of all this, to drive you into a deep passionate love for God, so that he’s all you think about and all you need.
My hope is that you will take this discipleship seriously, and that because of that you will treat it like a college course, one that requires your commitment and attention. If you do then you’ll have a reason to keep going. So below you’ll find a contract that you can sign. It’s just a little agreement between you, class=SpellE>gonna do this thing for at least a month. After that we can reassess, but hopefully you’ll be ready to go even deeper after that first month.
God Girl Academy Covenant
Your Name: Date:
This God Girl Academy Contract is a symbol of your commitment to God to seek his face, learn his ways and trust his word.
Seek: “When you look for me, you will find me. When you wholeheartedly seek me,” Jeremiah 29:13
Learn: "Now, sons, listen to me. Blessed are those who follow my ways.” Proverbs 8:32
Trust: “Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth.” Proverbs 3:5-6
discipleship plan is to know God and to make him known.
2. My goal is to worship God every day of my life, to commit to pray for at least two other people, to study God’s Word and to give Him the honor and the adoration He deserves.
3. I agree to spend time in prayer and Bible reading at least 30 minutes a day.
4. I agree to make God’s Word the thing I live by and not the world and to communicate the love of God to everyone I meet every day.
I confess that am a sinful person who fails everyday to know and to love God as much as I should. But I also know that God’s forgiveness is available for everyone who has made Jesus the Lord of their life. I want to know you more, to show you how much I love you and to serve you in whatever way you ask. I commit myself to these things today and ask that you would give me the strength of character and sprit to devote myself to pursuing you each day of my life.
What you will need
As you might be able to gather a lot of this first track is centered around the stuff in the God Girl book and God Girl Bible, but if you don’t have either you don’t have to freak. Though it would be good for you to have one or both of them you can still do some things without them. But what you will need for sure is your computer, your Bible and your time. A journal would be a good thing to think about to, just so you can remember all that you are learning and getting from your time with God.
